The Inflammatory Breast Cancer Network UK

Until we reach the day that we can keep every patient alive, we must find ways to help everybody living with inflammatory breast cancer and support them to live well.

The Inflammatory Breast Cancer Network UK is proud to announce the launch of the "Wear It Orange" campaign as part of this year's Breast Cancer Awareness Month. While the month of October is traditionally associated with all things pink, we are inviting the public to stand out and wear orange in support of raising awareness for inflammatory breast cancer (IBC), a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer.

Why Orange?

Inflammatory breast cancer often presents with a distinctive symptom known as peau d'orange, where the skin appears dimpled and resembles the texture of an orange peel. By choosing to wear orange, we celebrate our difference and bring much-needed attention to this often overlooked condition.

IBC is less common but more aggressive than other forms of breast cancer, and early detection is crucial. Many people are unaware of the signs of IBC, and this campaign aims to change that. Your support and participation in wearing orange can help spread awareness and educate others on the early warning signs of IBC.

Friday 4th October is Inflammatory breast cancer awareness day. We would love for you to Wear It Orange as a focus on IBC that day.

  • About

The Inflammatory Breast Cancer Network UK was founded by Caroline Ballinger whose daughter was diagnosed with IBC in 2011. At the time of her daughter’s diagnosis it quickly became clear that there was no IBC-specific support, information or research in the UK.

  • Support First

Our support service informs users about the International Standard of Care in inflammatory breast cancer treatment. We enable users to make informed choices about their care and we support them throughout their treatment and beyond.
There are support for Pateints, Medical and Family so please select the support most appropriate for you.

  • Fundraising

We are grateful for any fundraising you can do, no matter how big or small. Not only will you be raising money that we vitally need, but you’ll also be raising awareness of this little-known, aggressive form of breast cancer and of our charity.
