Why do we need funds?

Due to the lack of government funding our charity is driven by a desperate need to fund research into this aggressive disease. As inflammatory breast cancer is so rare we realise there is a need to not only promote and raise awareness of this condition but to also provide vital support to those living with IBC.

Fundraising

We are thankful to all our supporters who help to raise money to fund the only UK research into inflammatory breast cancer.

Our supporters current fundraisers can be found to the left. Please feel free to donate to any of them, or you can get involved in our monthly themed fundraiser, found to the left aswell.


Or why not have your own fundraiser, want to raise funds for us, but unsure how? Here are some ideas that could help you. Fundraising already starts with “fun”, so why not use some of our ideas.

Our Supporters

We are always delighted and grateful to receive any donations from any of our supporters, however large or small.  We also love to hear how you raise vital funds for us Sharing your story and fundraising efforts can be just as powerful as the funds it raises.

As a charity we are fortunate to have people that continue to support us time and time again and we thought we would share some of their stories and their reasons for supporting us.

Volunteer

Volunteers play a crucial role in helping us achieve our charity’s mission. This mission includes supporting and educating those affected by inflammatory breast cancer.

We also promote and raise awareness of the disease. Last, but not least, we raise funds for research into this rare and aggressive type of breast cancer.

We are extremely grateful for all the hard work and support that our volunteers dedicate to our charity.

  • Duties:

    Supporting and working alongside the Social Media Manager covering:

    - Facebook

    - Instagram

    - LinkedIn

    - X

    - YouTube

    Requirements:

    There are no set qualifications for becoming a Social Media Assistant, although we would welcome entrants with a degree.  This position is open to graduates from any discipline, but the following subjects can be particularly helpful:

    - advertising

    - business management

    - journalism

    - marketing (digital)

    - media and communications

    - content writing

    - graphic design

  • Duties:

    Supporting and working with the Website Team.

    - regularly examining website content to ensure it is up to date

    - updating individual web pages

    - making suggestions for new and revised web content and images

    - making suggestions for new and revised web navigation and page layout

    - adhering to the charity’s Information, Advice & Guidance Policy and maintaining strong data security at all times

    Requirements:

    - experience using Squarespace

    - ability to work in a small team

    - ability to work Remotely

  • Duties:

    Supporting the Fundraising Managers in the day to day running of the Fundraising Team.

    Requirements:

    - good IT skills

    - good verbal and written communication skills

    - ability to work independently and as part of a team

    - ability to prioritise work an to respond to supporters in a timely manner

    - an understanding of social media channels

    - basic understanding of fundraising regulations, data protection and best practice in capturing and recording data

    - an understanding of inflammatory breast cancer and living with a long-term medical condition

    - an empathy with the charity’s mission

  • Duties:

    Supporting and working with the Website Team.

    - regularly examining website content to ensure it is up to date

    - updating individual web pages

    - making suggestions for new and revised web content and images

    - making suggestions for new and revised web navigation and page layout

    - adhering to the charity’s Information, Advice & Guidance Policy and maintaining strong data security at all times

    Requirements:

  • Duties:

    Supporting the Treasurer in the day to day running of the charity

    Requirements:

    - knowledge of bookkeeping and financial management

    - knowledge and experience of current and fundraising practice relevant to charities

    - ability to create and maintain proper records

    - good financial analysis skills

    - ability to communicate clearly

    Whilst these skills are desirable, as long as a candidate is able to work with figures, training/guidance could be given.

In September 2022, Hannah’s eldest sister was diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast cancer at the age of 32. To support her sister, future patients and our charity Hannah is generously donating 100% of the sales from the Blue Pig Inflammatory Breast Cancer Collection to us.

Our new ebay store you can browse other IBC items including our Event t-shirts and IBC wristbands and buy them direct.
